Heart's Cottage: A Comfortable Riverside Lodging
Heart’s Cottage on the Bayou is a comfortable guest house for adults on a beautiful stretch of Big Cypress Bayou, not far from Big Pines Lodge. From the riverside porch of the cottage, you can watch the water, relax, and feel the world fade away. Like to fish? Bring your tackle, and catch dinner from the dock. If you’d prefer that someone else catch your dinner, bring a boat and cruise to the nearby restaurant, tie up while you dine, then cruise back to your own cottage on the water. It’s your perfect vacation retreat! Heart’s Cottage sleeps up to 7 guests, and is pet-friendly.No guests under 16 year of age, please.
Because the deep waters of the Bayou run beside the Cottage and boat traffic can be busy, we do not provide kayaks or canoes for guests, though you are welcome to bring your own. There are providers in the area; see our 'links' page.

Whether you come for just a weekend or stay for a week, everything you need is here.
Heart’s Cottage is a NO SMOKING lodging. Guests who smoke may do so on the outside areas, such as the picnic table, but no cigarette butts are to be left on the ground or table. All cigarette/cigar butts should be put in the trash once they are cold.
NO PARTIES, NO GUESTS UNDER 16, and no more than 7 guests. Rates are based on 4-person occupancy; each additional guest is $20 per night.
No fish-cleaning in the Cottage; extra cleaning will incur an additional cleaning fee.
Well-mannered pets are welcomed, with prior approval, and a $25 pet-cleaning fee will be added to the rate. Pet owners are required to bring containment, such as crate or pen, for their pets and not leave them alone while not contained. Pet owners should be prepared to monitor their pets outside, as there is no fence. Pet owners will be required to PAY for any damage OR ADDITIONAL CLEANUP incurred by their pet. Pet owners should be prepared to clean up their own pet's feces on the property.
No children under 16. Please note: cell phone service is unreliable at the Cottage; Verizon works best. To communicate, use the Wifi.

Heart’s Cottage will accommodate up to 7 persons comfortably.
2-night minimum stay required –NO one-night rentals
Holidays have a 3-night minimum stay.
* $140 per night, plus tax, Sunday-Thursday (non-holiday), quadruple occupancy
* $165 per night, plus tax, Friday-Saturday and holidays, quadruple occupancy
Extra persons $20 per night, per person, plus tax.
Discounts are available for stays of a week or longer.
Heart’s Cottage on the Bayou is a NO-SMOKING lodging.
Check-In is 2 p.m. Check-out is 11 a.m.
Pet Fee is $25.00
Cancellation and Reservation Policy
A credit card or deposit (check or money order equal to one night stay) is required to hold your reservation;
Holiday stays require deposit for two nights, as do stays longer than 3 nights. Debit cards may be charged for deposit of one night at time of reservation.
We accept cash, or personal check for payment at the time of your visit. Credit cards may be accepted for payment, with prior approval.
Notice of cancellation must be made 2 days in advance. If we do not receive notification at least 2 days prior to your arrival date, your deposit will be forfeit, or your credit card will be charged for one night’s lodging (two for holidays and longer stays).
To find the Cottage (1591 Pine Island Rd, Karnack, Tx)
As you drive from Marshall (14 miles) on Hwy 43 N, turn right onto SH 2198. Approximately 1.5 miles down the road, you’ll come to the turn for Pine Island Road, on the left–it’s marked with large signs for Big Pines Lodge. Turn onto Pine Island Road and drive approximately 1.5 miles. Once you pass Big Pines Lodge, you’ll see the river, Big Cypress Bayou, on the left. Heart’s Cottage is about 7/10 of a mile from Big Pines Lodge, at 1591 Pine Island Road.
